BOARD OF CORRECTION IDAPA RULE NUMBER 06.01.01.05 Victim Services POLICY STATEMENT It is the department’s policy to ensure that the rights of victims are preserved and protected . PURPOSE The purpose of this policy is to provide guidance regarding how the Idaho Department of Correction (IDOC) will comply with Idaho law to provide notification to crime victims and to protect their confidentiality in accordance with Idaho Code, § 19-5306, Rights of Victims During Investigation, Prosecution and Disposition of the Crime and Article I, Section 22 of the Idaho Constitution: Rights of Crime Victims . SCOPE This policy applies to residents housed in IDOC correctional facilities and staff members involved in providing services to victims. RESPONSIBILITY The director of the IDOC is responsible for overseeing the development, implementation, and monitoring of standard operating procedures (SOPs) to address compliance with Idaho laws pertaining to victim rights.
