BOARD OF CORRECTION IDAPA RULE NUMBER 06.02.01 Rules Governing the Supervision of Offenders on Probation o r Parole POLICY STATEMENT It is the policy of the department that the division of probation and parole has supervision authority over individuals placed on probation by the district courts, granted parole by the Idaho Commission for Pardons and Parole, or accepted for supervision under the authority of the Interstate Compact for Adult Offender Supervision, until the district court, the Commission for Pardons and Parole, or sending state releases such authority. PURPOSE The purpose of this policy is to establish guidance for the division of probation and parole in implementing standard operating procedures and practices related to the supervision and management of individuals on probation or parole under the jurisdictio n of Idaho Department of Correction. SCOPE This policy applies to all staff members, volunteers, and contractors within the division of probation and parole. RESPONSIBILITY The chief of the division of probation and parole is responsible to develop and imp lement standard operating procedures, manuals, and other documents and practices as needed to provide supervision services to individuals under the jurisdiction of the department and assigned to the division of probation and parole for supervision. These procedures include, but are not limited to the following: • Supervision strategies designed to protect the public and enhance the rehabilitation efforts of individuals under supervision. • Guidance regarding the interaction and cooperation with law enforcement agencies. Control Number: 701 Version: 4.0 Title: Probation and Parole Supervision Strategies Page Number: 2 of 2 Idaho Department of Correction • Procedures regarding the tracking and apprehension of individuals who have absconded supervision. • Procedures regarding the authorization and use of discretionary jail time. • Guidelines for the management of financial obligations of supervised indi viduals to include fine, restitution, and cost of supervision. • Procedures to manage the travel of supervised individuals. • Procedures managing the use of arrest warrants.
