Open to the public: Yes No BOARD OF CORRECTION IDAPA RULE NUMBER None POLICY STATEMENT It is the policy of the Idaho Board of Correction that the Idaho Department of Correction (IDOC) establish and maintain teams for the purpose of responding to field and community incidents such as escapes and walk-aways, apprehension of high-level absconders, facility disturbances and riots , and natural disasters. PURPOSE The purpose of this policy is to communicate the Board’s philosophy regarding the need and use of IDOC response teams . SCOPE This policy applies to all procedures created under the authority of this policy and to all uniformed Operations Division staff members working in probation and parole district offices and community work centers (CWCs). RESPONSIBILITY The director of the IDOC and chief of the Operations Division are responsible for overseeing the implementation of this policy and the development and implementation of a standard operating procedure (SOP) that provides guidance to uniformed Operations Division staff regarding field and community support teams . At a minimum, the SOP must provide guidance in the following areas : • Team structure, • Team membership criteria, • Team recruitment and selection, • Team member retention requirements , • Appointment of team leadership, Control Number: 709 Version: 2.0 Title: Support Teams: Field and Community Services Page Number: 2 of 2 • Team training requirements, • Team activation, and • Team audits .
