BOARD OF CORRECTION IDAPA RULE NUMBER None POLICY STATEMENT It is the policy of the Idaho Department of Correction to have a program allowing eligible minimum custody inmates the opportunity to reenter the community for a short time to further inmate rehabilitation and reintegration, or for medical diagnosis or treatment. PURPOSE This policy gives general direction regarding the department’s position on furlough of inmates. Furlough is a supervised, limited leave that is discretionary and a privilege. SCOPE This policy applies to all department staff and facilities housing minimum custody inmates. RESPONSIBILITY Affected division chiefs are responsible to create standard operating procedure to allow eligible inmates to request and obtain furlough leave. – End of Document –
