It is the policy of the Board of Correction that the Department of Correction exercise
control over all weapons and contraband in its correctional facilities. All persons
entering an Idaho correctional facility are subject to search of possessions, motor
vehicle or body.

Unannounced searches of persons or their possessions are authorized.
All vehicles entering the secure perimeter of an Idaho correctional facility will be
searched.
Affected divisions of the Department of Correction will formulate directives, and field
memoranda as necessary, to implement this policy.
