POLICY STATEMENT
It is the policy of the Idaho Board of Correction that the Department of Correction maintain
emergency response plans to include escapes, man-made or natural disasters, and other
types of emergencies or disorder. Response to emergencies is the responsibility of every
correctional employee, and employees must be trained in emergency response procedures.
PURPOSE
To establish guidelines for responding to emergencies that affect IDOC facilities.
SCOPE
This policy applies to all Idaho Department of Correction facilities.
RESPONSIBILITY
Division chiefs are responsible for developing and implementing standard operating
procedures that contain guidance, monitoring, and preparation for response to emergencies.
Emergency response plans, developed in accordance with standard operating procedures,
must be maintained in each district office, correctional facility, and central office. All
emergency response plans must be reviewed and updated in accordance with standard
operating procedures.
