POLICY STATEMENT
It is the policy of the Idaho Department of Correction (IDOC) that employees have a
commitment to high moral, ethical, and professional conduct and adhere to the principles of
the state merit system.
PURPOSE
The purpose of this policy is to set expectations regarding standards of conduct and ethical
behavior.
SCOPE
This policy applies to all department employees.
RESPONSIBILITY
The human resource manager is responsible to establish a standard operating procedure
regarding standards of conduct and ethics that provides guidance regarding, but not limited
to the following:
• Code of ethics
• Requirements of personal conduct
• Conflicts of interest
• Methods for investigation of ethics violations
• Consequences for violations of professional conduce and unethical behavior
