HomeMy WebLinkAbout510.02.01.001.01 (ISCC FM) Vehicles Inside PerimeterThis document was approved by Randy Blades, Warden of ISCC, on 07/01/2014 Purpose The purpose of this field memorandum is to provide specific guidelines that are unique to this facility in order to fully implement standard operating procedure 510.02.01.001.01.This field memorandum applies to all vehicles within the perimeter fences, to include electric and gas powered vehicles operated by contractors, medical staff, department staff, outside agency staff, and offenders. General Statement This field memorandum is subject to revision at the discretion of the warden of this facility, chief of the Operations Division (or designee), or director of the Idaho Department of Correction. Any one of these persons may revise, suspend, or rescind any procedural steps, at any time, at hissole discretion. TABLE OF CONTENTSProcedural Guidelines1References1 PROCEDURAL GUIDELINES Any vehicle having official business in the secure perimeter of any Idaho correctional facility will be thoroughly searched during entry and exit, in a vehicle sally port, after authorization by the shift commander or higher authority. Any vehicle within the property boundaries of an Idaho correctional facility is subject to search. These searches may be done on a random basis. Random/periodic searches of motor vehicles are encouraged and may be authorized by the shift commander. Vehicles and all compartment/tool boxes will be locked when not occupied. Ambulances have priority within the perimeter; no other vehicles may be in operation when an ambulance is moving within the perimeter. Vehicles will move at a slow pace to avoid collision or injury to persons or property. Slow pace is defined as the same pace as walking.
