HomeMy WebLinkAbout216.02.01.002.01 (ISCC FM) Town Hospital Staffing Protocol for S Boise Complex ____________________________ This document was approved by Randy Blades, Warden of ISCC on 07/01/2014 Purpose The purpose of this field memorandum is to provide specific guidelines that are unique to this facility in order to fully implement standard operating procedure216.02.01.002.01. The deputy warden of security has oversight responsibility. General Statement This field memorandum is subject to revision at the discretion of the warden of this facility, chief of the Operations Division (or designee), or director of the Idaho Department of Correction. Any one of these persons may revise, suspend, or rescind any procedural steps, at any time, at hissole discretion. TABLE OF CONTENTSProcedural Guidelines1References2 PROCEDURAL GUIDELINES Toestablish a standard protocol for all facilities south of Boise that provides security/supervisory coverage for offenders admitted to the hospital, the ISCI shift commander will:Be the primary point of contact anytime an offender is admitted to the hospital. Make staffing decisions based on established criteria and personally communicate with other shift commanders to ensure all pertinent information is passed on.Determine how to distribute the security burden based on the following criteria:1st offenderISCI will provide security coverage 2nd offenderISCC will provide security coverage 3rd offenderISCI will provide security coverage 4th offenderISCC will provide security coverage 5th offenderIMSI will provide security coverage 6th offenderSICI will provide security coverage and then the rotation starts over again.Once a facility is assigned to supervise an offender, that facility will continue to assume that responsibility for the duration of the offender’s stay, unless the number of admitted offenders drops below three. Anytime an offender is admitted to the hospital, he will be moved to the ISCI count. Once the offender is released, he should be returned to his home facility unless admitted to ISCI infirmary.Emergency/unscheduled medical transports will be the responsibility of the affected facility however assistance may be requested through shift commanders. If an offender is admitted to the hospital following an emergency transport, the sending facility will provide security coverage for the remainder of the shift or until the ISCI shift commander can facilitate/schedule assistance accordingly.This field memorandum will be distributed to ISCC, SICI and ISCI References SOP 216.02.01.001 Staffing Model/Facility Roster Management Requirements – End of Document –
