Purpose
The purpose of this field memorandum is to provide specific guidelines that are unique to this facility in order to fully implement standard operating procedure 103.00.01.002
General Statement
This field memorandum is subject to revision at the discretion of the Warden of this facility, Chief of the Operations bureau (or designee), or Director of the Idaho Department of Correction.
Any one of these persons may revise, suspend, or rescind any procedural steps, at any time, at hissole discretion.
General requirements
Signed original post orders are maintained in the policy coordinator’s office. Each individual post shall maintain a copy of the orders for that post. Current post orders are posted
electronically on the shared drive.
Shift commander or designee shall make copies of the post orders available to new and/or reassigned individuals so that staff shall familiarize themselves with new duties prior to assignment
to the new post. In lieu of making copies, the shift commander or designee may direct staff to view them on line. Staff will date and initial a training sheet stating the orders for
the assigned post have been read and understood. An individual should not be assigned to a post without an opportunity to review the post orders unless the conditions demand immediate
placement of a staff member in a post without further delay.
All post orders will be reviewed annually by the facility management team.
Any changes from the review or from institutional operations changes at any time during the year should be routed through the Deputy Warden of security.
No changes will be made in the post orders without the written approval of the deputy warden of security or designee. Post orders are for the exclusive use of departmental personnel
and will, at no time or for any reason, be shown to inmates or persons who are not so authorized.
