BOARD OF CORRECTION IDAPA RULE NUMBER None POLICY STATEMENT It is the policy of the Idaho Department of Correction (IDOC) to establish a zero-tolerance standard regarding all forms of sexual abuse and sexual harassment. PURPOSE IDOC must develop and maintain policies and practices to prevent, detect, and respond to sexual abuse and sexual harassment in compliance with the Prison Rape Elimination Act (PREA). SCOPE This policy applies to employees, prison and community reentry center residents, volunteers, and contractors of the IDOC. Required practices include detection and reporting methods, prevention, response, staff training, and resident education. RESPONSIBILITY The Director of the IDOC will assign an agency-wide PREA Coordinator to oversee the development, implementation, and oversight of department efforts to reduce and prevent sexual abuse and sexual harassment in IDOC facilities. Facility heads will assign a PREA Compliance Manager to ensure procedures are followed and documented. Human Resources will ensure training is provided and hiring and disciplinary practices are followed and documented. REFERENCES Prison Rape Elimination Act of 2003, 42 U.S.C. Sec. 15601, et seq.
