    • If you have not served in the military select "Does Not Apply to Me".

      If you have served in the military, you must have a DD-214 Member 4 copy or NGB-22 indicating honorable, uncharacterized, or general under honorable conditions to qualify. You will be required to provide this documentation in order to move forward.

      Can you meet this requirement?
    • Have you received a conviction, withheld judgement, suspended or imposed conviction of:

      - A felony since you turned 18 years of age
      - A DUI in the last two (2) years- A sex crime in the last five (5) years
      - An illegal drug crime in the last one (1) year
      - A crime of deceit in the last five (5) years
    • PHYSICAL AGILITY STANDARDS:
      Are you physically able to complete the POST Physical Readiness Standards? These requirements can be found here (opens in new tab).
    • VISION STANDARDS:
      Must have uncorrected vision in each eye of no worse than 20/200 with the strong eye corrected to 20/30 and the weaker eye corrected to 20/60.

      HEARING STANDARDS:
      Shall have unaided or aided hearing between zero (0) and thirty (30) decibels for each ear at the frequencies of one thousand (1000) Hz and two thousand (2000) Hz; and unaided or aided hearing between zero (0) and fifty (50) decibels for each ear at the frequency of three thousand (3000) Hz. Individuals not meeting these standards may qualify for a vision and/or hearing standard waiver process as long as the deficit does not impede the applicant's ability to perform defined job duties.

      Please respond whether you are willing to:
      - work any shift including day, swing, and graveyard;
      - work weekends, holidays, and overtime;
      - participate in training to learn and develop techniques and skills required of a correctional specialist;
      - conduct a thorough body search of incarcerated individuals, visitors, or other suspects for contraband and weapons;
      - work alone and unarmed while supervising the activities of unrestrained adult residents in a correctional facility;
      - perform routine searches of kitchen areas for contraband;
      - develop skills in the use of firearms;
      - transport incarcerated individuals;
      - participate in investigations, write incident reports, and give testimony in court; and
      - set aside any personal prejudices and be fair in dealing with residents.

    • Have you been convicted of engaging or attempting to engage in sexual activity in the community facilitated by force, overt or implied threats of force, or coercion, or if the victim did not consent or was unable to consent or refuse?
    • Have you been civilly or administratively adjudicated to have engaged in sexual activity in the community facilitated by force, overt or implied threats of force, or coercion, or if the victim did not consent or was unable to consent or refuse?
